2019 in Review
The Friends of Up Yonda Farm would like to reflect on our good fortune and accomplishments of the past year; and share them with people like you, who value and appreciate Up Yonda Farm.
- Using a grant provided by the Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District, a worm composter was purchased for Up Yonda Farm; and, with our help, a donation of an industrial sized composter was received from a local business. These will help to reduce waste at the Farm and produce healthy compost for the gardens. Most importantly, these will serve as tools for the farm’s educational programs related to conservation.
- Multiple pairs of children’s binoculars and magnifying glasses were purchased for use by students and visitors to Up Yonda Farm.
- Over 200 pumpkins were purchased for attendees of Up Yonda Farms annual “Trunk or Treat” event in October.
- Special give-away items were provided to supplement the “Campfire Chats” that were held at Up Yonda Farm as part of their summer programming.
- An informational booth was set up at the Bolton Farmer’s Market and at the Lake George Land Conservancy’s Family Day, to provide information to the community and visitors about Up Yonda Farm and the Friends.
We have many exciting ideas for the upcoming year, including a Beehive Observation Station, benches and other seating, and a sightseeing scope at the Up Yonda Farm vista. In addition to the many generous donations we’ve received, we also intend to conduct some fund-raising events and pursue grant opportunities in 2020.
During this season of gratitude and good cheer, we ask that you consider a donation to help us continue our efforts in support of the wonderful programs at Up Yonda Farm.

Meet the Friends
After months of effort, the Friends of Up Yonda Farm, a volunteer, not for profit group, is an established organization. Please read our letter of introduction in this post for more details.
Dear Friend of Up Yonda Farm,
What do you remember most about your last trip to Up Yonda Farm in Bolton Landing? Did you visit the educational museum, the butterfly house; the sensory garden? Did you hike the trails up the hill to gaze at the beautiful vista of Lake George? Up Yonda Farm is a Warren County gem.
Now there’s a new chapter in Up Yonda history. The Friends of Up Yonda Farm, Inc. is a volunteer organization committed to raising funds to supplement programming at Up Yonda Farm. It is a tax exempt, certified, not for profit corporation with 501(c)(3) charitable status.
The Friends will be providing a composter to Up Yonda to be used for gardening and educational classes on the benefits of composted soils. Future projects include funding a sightseeing scope to be installed at the top of the meadow for enhanced lake views; a new bee hive demonstration area; and solar projects to defray Up Yonda’s electrical costs as well as educate visitors to the benefits of solar energy. Your donation will help defray the costs of these items.

Nature Programs
Up Yonda Farm presents a variety of nature programs and events for schools, groups, and the general public in every season. The Friends will augment these programs and help Up Yonda staff create new ones.
Up Yonda Farm
Up Yonda Farm is an environmental education center located in Bolton Landing, NY. The facility is operated by the Warren County DPW Parks and Recreation Division.
Hiking Trails
Up Yonda Farm has over 70 acres of marked trails for hiking and snowshoeing. There is a variety of terrain to suit any physical ability.
